THE HISTORY OF MEPhI

The Mechanics Institute of Ammunitions was founded in 1942.

Reorganisation into the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1953;

Attainment of national research university status in 2008, 
It renamed "National Research Nuclear University" in 2013.

The university was named one of Russia's top 15 universities.
